U12A play in the local U12 competition. They have moved from a 9V9 on a medium field to an 11V11 game on a full-sized field. The step up has been embraced by all the players and they love to challenge themselves. The other impressive fact is that they are really working together as a team in the trainings, games and even in the classroom.
They are starting to take more responsibility, are becoming “young adults” and are getting ready for high college.
Back to the competition on the weekends, the team is showing good improvement in their understanding of positioning and playing in an 11V11 competition. While all the players love to have the ball and love to score, most understand their individual roles and responsibilities attached to their positions and it’s a pleasure for a coach to see their improvement in awareness.
I would like to say thank you to all my players for giving your best during every training and game and being supportive of the decisions I make regarding games and positions, even though you might not favour a particular role during a game. You are all doing a fantastic job and it’s a joy to see you boys growing into accomplished football players. To all the parents and other supporters, thank you for supporting your child and all the other players in so many different ways. It’s fantastic to have such a big group of understanding parents who want the best for their kids… (and we all know that’s me!!! HAHAHA)
Next game is this Saturday at home against East Gosford at 09.00am.
