As a trainee coach at CCSC part of my week involves getting out into the community to coach Mariners ACTIVE sessions (which is a free program involving small-sided games with an inflatable pitch). This provides me with valuable experience in coaching kids between 4 and 13. I visit colleges all over the Central Coast region on behalf of the Mariners and get kids active and having fun. So far it’s been a great learning curve and will help me towards my goal of becoming a professional coach.
On top of my new duties, I also signed for the 18’s IFS FC team. This gives me the opportunity to train at college as I did when I was a student. I am also the assistant coach of the U15’s IFS FC under Matt O’Neil and this will enable me to gain valuable experience and learn a thing or two from Matt.
