Introducing…
The Project Lounge
We have set up a room in Building 27 that is being used predominantly for meetings, however it also doubles as a room where innovative/creative projects or ideas will be displayed. On one of the walls, there will be a feature project displayed each month. Chosen by staff, the criteria is an outstanding contribution to a particular topic, or project undertaken on the staff/students’ own behalf that shows initiative, innovation, work ethic etc.
The November Project came about from two of our students undertaking community service at a local shelter for the homeless where they served meals and helped out in general at the shelter.
The students were impacted greatly by the experience, so much so that when they returned to regular classes, they organised a sporting gala day at the college to raise money for the shelter.
Submissions for the December featured project are now in and I wanted to put the spotlight on them as they’re all worthy of attention, among college staff and students as well as in the wider community. Please feel free to comment on the one you would choose for the December featured project.
Project 1: Fast 4 Red Ball Showdown, Project 2: The Old Handbag, Project 3: Cyberbullying, Project 4: STEM Maths Project, Project 5: Staff Yoga, Project 6: Garden and Adventure Park
