Wow, I can’t believe that we are in May already and our class has once again grown. I would like to welcome all our new students and their families. Please feel free to contact your child’s mentor if you have any questions. This year I am studying full time and working full time. Alongside this I have three children under six. It is a truly testing year with very late nights and early mornings trying to fit it all in. I have assignments that are due in nearly every week and time management has been something I have had to become extremely good at. I have to make sure that I meet all deadlines or I simply do not pass the unit.
This is something that we are constantly having to work with in our lives – deadlines. Such a harsh word with potentially serious consequences which need to be treated as such. We are constantly working with the children to make sure they are meeting their deadlines. This is part of becoming a life-long learner and as teachers, it is one of our goals to instil this doctrine in our students. In our class, students are quite often given a task to work on and they are also given a deadline to work to. If this deadline is not met then it affects their grade. While we do take into consideration that sometimes circumstances can affect whether or not that deadline is met it is important, if this is the case, to communicate this with teachers/group members.
Hopefully the weather starts to turn around and the mud starts to dry up as I am sure all parents are getting tired of cleaning/soaking uniforms. We do have some exciting events coming up during the term. One of the most important is our Primary Camp in week 7. More information will come out soon regarding this. I look forward to seeing you all over the next term.
