There’s nothing better than getting a big group of young kids together at a college camp where old friendships are strengthened, and new friendships forged. There are a number of new students this year, and their introduction to the college was now going to take them far from home on a great adventure.
I was lucky enough to help lead a great group of year 7 and 8 boys that enjoyed the challenges that were provided by a well organised camp, run by very professional staff. During the 5 days we were involved in trekking 16km over the top of a mountain. Camping under the stars, cooking meals for the group and then the types of challenges that fine tune leadership qualities and group bonding. Some of the kids managed to beat their fears by pushing through the challenges while being cheered on by their friends. Every one offered support during tough moments where emotions sometimes became too much to handle after so many days away from a comfortable home.
The camp was a great success with many great moments shared by all…
